DJ Mercury Ulia “Watching clips doesn’t accurately convey what this is all about. I feel like to fully understand & receive this for what it is, you really do just have to come to a show to experience a liveset for yourself,” Mercury Ulia (musical alias of Julian Gonzalez) elucidates.
They’re a longtime singer, songwriter, music producer, & DJ hailing from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Debuting in Kalamazoo at 2025’s Pride Afterparty, they’re returning to the stage of Bell’s Eccentric Cafe to close down this year’s festivities. As a DJ, their mission is to bring the genre of Hardstyle to ears & stages who are foreign to the music.
“It’s a bit funny; I’m honestly quite quiet & reserved, but I’ve been told the music I play & how I perform is quite a drastic contrast from my personality. The music almost appears like a contradiction of me in that sense, but it’s actually a very genuine side of who I am.”
DJ ClubKid has been a staple in Michigan’s queer nightlife industry 20+ years as an MC, Performer and designer! Recently being named DJ of the year, ClubKid is one of the most sought after DJs in Michigan. With a wide range of music spanning top40 pop hits, club anthems, dance music and remixes.
DJ ClubKid aims to recreate the not so distant memory of a time before camera phones and social media when people would come together on the dance floor surrounded by each other engulfed in the music, dancing without apprehension.
