BLACK COUNTRY NEW ROAD wsg HORSEGIRL
2026 Bell’s Beer Garden Summer Concert Series This is a 18 and over event – 17 and under admitted with a parent or guardian There are few contemporary bands who can do musical reinvention quite as consistently as Black Country, New Road. From their Mercury Music Prize-nominated debut For the First Time, which touched upon everything from jazz to post-rock via klezmer music, to the art-rock meets chamber pop follow up Ants From Up There (both top 5 charting albums). Then when singer Isaac Wood amicably left shortly after, they wrote an entire set of new songs to tour which ended up on Live at Bush Hall, an album The Guardian claimed was a “magical resurgence” in a triumphant five-star review. Now, on studio album three, the band are once again building from the ground up in yet another miraculous musical transformation. “Bush Hall was a really fun project to find our feet in,” says Charlie Wayne. “But we toured it to death and we were done with those songs. This album is a new statement of intent for us as a six-piece.” The band have now settled into a new shape in which vocal duties – and most of the songwriting – is split between Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw. “It created a real through line for the album, having three girls singing,” says Ellery. “It’s definitely very different to Ants From Up There, because of the female perspective – and the music we’ve made also compliments that.”

Chris Knight wsg Matt Woods
This is a 18+ event with standing room only | Advance tickets may also be purchased in person at the General Store by card only (no cash) After 23 years as a recording artist, singer-songwriter Chris Knight remains boldly empowered to make music that always delivers the unflinching truth. In fact, the man raised in Slaughters, Kentucky uses a simple, direct barometer to regularly check his muse: “If I can’t believe myself, I won’t sing the song.” That brutally honest, no-frills philosophy fits his Americana-fueled, backwoods-grown merger of folk, country, and rock. It’s been at the backbone of nine studio albums, beginning with 1998’s acclaimed self-titled debut and traveling through scorchers such as the one-two punch of 2001’s A Pretty Good Guy and 2003’s The Jealous Kind, two demo-styled discs (2007’s The Trailer Tapes and 2009’s Trailer II), and the recent, electric guitar-fortified opus, 2019’s Almost Daylight.  Because Knight’s music has always sat outside of the mainstream, onstage is where he makes his fans one show at a time. It is exactly where his searing tales of rural characters, fringe survivors, and tumultuous small-town existence find a captivated audience. A few edgy, raw gems that immediately come to mind are “It Ain’t Easy Being Me,” “Carla Came Home,” “I’m William Callahan,” and “Everybody’s Lonely Now,” the latter two from Almost Daylight. What Knight writes about is what he knows. He was raised in mining country, so it’s no surprise that he would earn a degree in agriculture from Western Kentucky University and then work as a mine reclamation inspector and then miner’s consultant. But eventually his passion for writing songs and playing guitar, both inspired by his musical hero, the late John Prine, led him to chronicle his surroundings in words and music.

Mustard Plug with Special Guests The Boy Detective, Killer Diller
This is a 18+ event with standing room only | Advance tickets may also be purchased in person at the General Store by card only (no cash) Mustard Plug started out in 1991 in the punk clubs, basements, and dive bars of the Midwest, playing punk-influenced ska music before most people in the U.S. had ever heard of ska. They embraced a DIY work ethic that had been ingrained in them growing up in the 1980s hardcore punk scene and applied it to everything they would ever do together as a band. Mustard Plug self-released their first cassette tape, 1992’s Skapocalypse Now!, and played constantly to earn enough money to record their first album, 1994’s Big Daddy Multitude, which was released on legendary NYC label Moon Records. With their newfound national distribution and exposure, the band climbed into their van and performed their music for new fans across North America. For their next album they enlisted their heroes, the Descendents’ Bill Stevenson and Stephan Egerton, to record their breakthrough ska-punk classic Evildoers Beware at The Blasting Room. After meeting the crew from Hopeless Records in the beer line at a Descendents show at the Whisky-A-Go-Go, the band teamed up with the then-fledgling LA punk label to release the album to an eager and rapidly expanding fanbase. Released in 1997, Evildoers Beware solidified the band’s own take on the genre, combining the edginess of punk and the danceability of ska with sure fire melodic pop hooks. Through relentless touring and word of mouth, Evildoers Beware sold over 150,000 copies and solidified the band’s position within the burgeoning third wave ska scene. The band even flirted with commercial radio play with their cover of The Verve Pipe’s “The Freshman,” but decided mainstream pop fame was not for them. They never shot a video or commercially released the song despite the radio buzz. In March 2020, while touring Australia and watching the live music biz fall apart in front of their eyes, it became apparent that COVID-19 would force the band to reluctantly take a 16-month hiatus. Stuck at home, they workshopped material for a new album, expected to drop in 2023. Returning to the stage in the fall of 2021, Mustard Plug shared a newfound appreciation of live shows with their ska-starved fans. Currently, the band is back on the road, riding a fresh wave of worldwide enthusiasm for ska, teaming up with a new generation of ska bands, and playing for fans old and new. They have now played over 1,900 shows, released 6 albums, and celebrated 30 years of playing the music they love.

This is a 18+ event with standing room only | Advance tickets may also be purchased in person at the General Store by card only (no cash) Witches Wedding We capture a balance of sound through soft yet aggressive arrangements. The phrase “witches wedding” refers to moments that are happy yet sad at the same time. We shed our hearts into our instruments, letting the sounds they create paint the walls with those feelings. Echoing into the souls that share those moments.  Sierra Miffed “Sierra Miffed is a Kalamazoo-based punk trio that deals in sardonic wit and catchy riffs. Influences include 90s greats The Muffs, Green Day, Punk-O-Rama and Fat Wreck Chords compilations, Daria, Enid Coleslaw, and bedroom walls plastered with magazine collages.” Yellowhouse Yellowhouse is a Kalamazoo-based rock and indie band creating nostalgic yet fresh music rooted in emotion, community, and electric live energy. Formed in 2024, their sound blends classic musicianship with modern edge.
